My verdict: the lowest-rated of the six listings, at 4.0 from 21 reviews, and the only one that takes you anywhere the standard ticket cannot. 4.0 from 21, and what I think is behind it
This is the weakest score on the site and it is not a large sample. Twenty-one reviews is enough to notice a pattern and not enough to prove one, so what follows is my reading rather than a fact I can hand you.
The Secret Apartments are four rooms and a bathroom. They are not a second gallery. A visitor who books them after reading about four wings of pictures, a 1767 hang and the largest privately owned palace in Rome can walk out in under an hour feeling thinly served by something that was never advertised as long. A 4.0 is exactly what a good short thing sold to people expecting a long thing tends to score. Book it knowing it is a focused look at four rooms and the arithmetic changes.

Twenty-one people rated this and I have no wording from any of them that I can reproduce. So this page quotes nobody rather than inventing a reviewer or lifting a sentence from a different listing. What is actually behind those doors

The gallery’s own closure day is fixed and well documented; this is the one corner of the building where I would check twice.

Do not book it as your introduction to the Doria Pamphilj; start with the plain entry ticket and the four wings. Do not book it expecting volume — it is deliberately small. And if what you want is an evening in the private apartments rather than a daytime look at them, the concert is held in the Princess’s Secret Apartment and is a different proposition altogether.
